The Local Employment Access Partnership (LEAP)has organised a pre-employment course feeding into live jobs with Halifax specifically for unemployed residents in North Belfast due to start early February 2006.
LEAP, a North Belfast Partnership employability initiaitve working with Halifax, the Department for Employment and Learning and BIFHE has developed a short three week course tailored to link North Belfast unemployed job hunters with Customer Consultant vacancies in this award-winning banking service.
The course is an introduction to all the skills areas Customer Consultant positions require ranging from team building, call handling, computer skills to understanding banking jargon. In addition to this, course participants will be trained in interview techniques to best prepare them for the guaranteed interviews with Halifax for those who successfully complete training. The course is designed to give people with little or no work experience, the confidence and support to access jobs they might not have thought of applying for previously.
Course participants whilst training will receive childcare costs where applicable, travel and lunch costs and onsite support of LEAP's newly appointed Employability Consultant.
