BURA BURSARY OPPORTUNITY
|
Date: 22/09/2006
|
North Belfast Partnership, through the Urban II Programme, are pleased to announce that they are now offering the chance for participants from the community sector within North Belfast to take part, by means of a bursary scheme, in the newly launched BURA Regeneration Training Programme for Northern Ireland.
BURA has become a leading organisation in the field of regeneration, and as such, clearly recognises the impact which the Review of Public Administration will have upon this area.
Through extensive consultation, BURA has developed a unique programme of training and development to meet the practical needs of urban regeneration practitioners.
This highly practical and informative programme would benefit practitioners from all sectors within Northern Ireland preparing to go into or already involved in regeneration.
This course is most suited to those interested or working within Regeneration, whether you main interests lie in physical regeneration, economic and community regeneration or regeneration across the public, private, academic or the voluntary sectors.
The NBP bursaries will be available in three areas :
· BURA Course- This offers an amazing opportunity to access high standard tutors who deliver a wide range of one day modules focussing on all elements of Urban regeneration. Participants will achieve a Certificate from BURA on successful completion of all modules. The bursary will cover 95% of the total course fees.
· Post- Graduate Qualification- Participants are able to gain a Post Graduate Certificate in Management (Urban Regeneration) from Coventry University. This award winning course is a part-time course designed for those in full time work having, or aspiring to have, management responsibilities. It concentrates on active reflection and provides an introduction to management using Regeneration as the model. The Bursary will cover 90% of the total course fees, and is subject to acceptance onto the BURA regeneration Programme.
· BURA Networking Conference- An opportunity to attend BURA's Annual Conference on the 10th and 11th of October 2006 in Milton Keynes. This programme has been designed specifically to enable the participant to discuss, engage, analyse and think practically with their peers. To encourage attendance, the Bursary will cover 50% of the total cost of participation, including travel and expenses for those accepted onto the Regeneration Programme.
Please note that both participation in the Post Graduate course, and the Networking conference are optional.
Applicants must complete and submit the short Urban II Bursary Application form only. This will then be forwarded to BURA and will act as an application to the course - no separate application is needed.
This is a late opportunity to access grant support. Due to the restrictive time scale, we would encourage all those interested to apply as soon as possible. Please note, places are limited, and if oversubscribed, preference will be given to those applicants working within North Belfast who have not undertaken any previous regeneration training.
To request an application pack, or if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact Jeni Harvey on (028) 90 75 29 90, or e-mail jeni.harvey@nthbp.org.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS is FRIDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER 2006 AT 12.00pm.
