Sustainability and Community Development Seminar

North Belfast Partnership, in association with West Belfast Partnership and the Greater Shankill Partnership, is holding a series of Seminars and associated Workshops on key themes that affect the community sector.
Through presentations by keynote speakers from Government agencies, funding bodies, academia, and the community sector, the Seminars will examine issues that are central to the future of the sector over the coming years.
The first Seminar, on the theme of ‘Sustainability and Community Development’, will explore the challenges facing community organisations over the coming years. In particular, speakers and participative workshops will examine the debate on the role of the community sector and its future sustainability.
The event is on Thursday 2nd February 2006 at Farset International Hostel from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Keynote speakers will include: Dave Wall, DSD; Sammy Douglas, Belfast Area Partnerships; Dr Ken Sterrett, School of Planning, QUB; and Ann Pendleton of Belfast Institute of Further & Higher Education.
The event is open to community workers and activists from the three Partnership areas of North Belfast, West Belfast and the Greater Shankill.
